High expectations from judiciary: JADPA

Srinagar: The Joint Amalgam of Doctors and Paramedical Associations (JADPA) Friday  strongly condemned what it termed as red carpet treatment being provided by  the government to former Health Minister Shabir Ahmad Khan despite charges of sexual assault against him.
“The medical fraternity of Valley is immensely dejected by the way the culprit was treated as a guest since his arrival at Srinagar. It is quite evident that the government is implementing different yardsticks when it comes to high profile people,” a JADPA spokesman said in  a statement.
He added: “We have full faith in the judiciary in dispensing justice. We apprehend that if justice doesn’t prevail in this case it will choke all those voices willing to root out the rot from the society so that women will feel at ease at their workplaces,” the spokesman said.
The JADPA is an amalgamation of the Field Doctors Welfare Association Kashmir, Health and Family Employees Welfare Confederation, Society Of Consultant Doctors, JK Dental Surgeons Society, JK State Contractual Doctors Association, NRHM Doctors (MBBS & AYUSH) Association, J&K Pharmacist Association, Doctors and Patients Welfare Association and  Health Employees Confederation Committee.
