Shabir Shah, others detained

SRINAGAR: The recently floated Hurriyat Conference Jammu and Kashmir while expressing strong resentment over the Army decision to close the Pathribal fake encounter case said “Kashmiri nation never expected any justice on part of Army.”
“Such decisions vindicate our stand that India is occupying Jammu and Kashmir merely by dint of gun,” the statement said, adding “That is why we demand complete freedom from its forcible occupation so as to secure our lives, honor, dignity and faith.”
The statement also condemned the detention of party leaders on way to Pathribal.
“The delegation comprising Shabir Shah, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Muhammad Yusuf Naqash, Wajhat Qureshi, Muhammad Yasin Ataai, Haroon Kashmiri and Bilal Ahmad Shah, was on its way to Pathribal to express solidarity with the families of fake encounter victims,” the statement said, adding “They were also scheduled to pay tributes to Shaheed Javed Salfi at Islamabad .”
The statement condemned the police action as “an autocratic act.”
