Hardepanzoo teachers without salary for 5 months

SRINAGAR: Frequent transfer of Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) and delay in payment of salaries of ReTs has irked the School Education staff in Hardepanzoo in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
“In past three to four months, six new ZEOs were appointed in the area. These frequent transfers are drastically affecting the working of the system,” a delegation of officials told Kashmir Reader.
It said the ReTs in the area have been waiting salaries for five months, and that the funds for the Mid-Day Meals (MDM) scheme in the schools are also unpaid.
“Due to delay in the release funds, the cooks and other staff associated with the MDM scheme are yet to get their due pay. Also, the salaries of ReTs in the area has not been paid five months,” it added.
The delegation appealed the concerned authorities to release the funds and salaries.
The Chief Education Officer Budgam was not available for comment.
