Srinagar: A history-sheeter, carrying a toy pistol, was arrested after he tried to extort money from a shopkeeper in the city Tuesday.
Mohammad Salim Mir, a resident of Safakadal locality of interior city, entered a shop in court road area and demanded money from the shopkeeper by threatening him with a toy pistol, police sources said.
They said a police party was informed about the presence of the extortionist who was immediately arrested.
Mir has several criminal cases registered against him, the sources said.
