Says office bearers terminated for ‘financial irregularities, embezzlement’
‘Self-styled group misleading public; legal proceedings initiated’

SRINAGAR: The State Executive Committee of the Private Schools’ Association Jammu & Kashmir (PSAJK) convened an Extraordinary Meeting on Tuesday to deliberate on developments concerning certain individuals claiming to represent the Association, and unanimously resolved to inform the public that no elections of PSAJK were held under the banner of the Association on July 18, 2026, at Hotel Palms.
The Committee stated that reports suggesting “for the first time elections of PSAJK were conducted” are false, misleading, and contrary to the constitutional provisions of the Association.
The State Executive Committee adopted the following resolutions:
– The office bearers who participated in the alleged and unauthorized proceedings of July 18, 2026, stand terminated from the basic membership of PSAJK on account of financial irregularities, embezzlement of Association funds, and failure to submit audited accounts despite repeated directions.
– The former President of the Association had already retired from office and was only holding an ex-officio position up to October 12, 2026, without any mandate to convene or authorize elections.
– As per the Constitution and Bye-laws of PSAJK, no Annual General Meeting, Special General Meeting, or election process can be convened without the approval of the President on the recommendations of the State Executive Committee. Therefore, any such exercise undertaken without following the constitutional procedure is null and void.
The State Executive Committee strongly condemned attempts by the self-styled and illegitimate group, comprising individuals already terminated from the Association, to mislead the school fraternity and the public. The Apex Committee formally approved the initiation and continuation of appropriate legal proceedings and complaints before competent law enforcement agencies for the recovery of Association funds and for action against the terminated former office bearers responsible for financial irregularities.
The Committee further resolved that all concerned financial institutions and relevant authorities shall be formally informed regarding the termination of the concerned individuals and the illegitimacy of any group claiming to function on behalf of PSAJK without constitutional authority.
It was unanimously resolved that PSAJK has conducted elections in public preview under laid norms and active participation of the fraternity for a term of three years, and these cannot be undermined by a few terminated and retired persons who have utilized the institution for their ulterior motives.
The State Executive Committee appealed to all member schools, stakeholders, government departments, and the general public to recognize only the duly authorized office bearers of PSAJK functioning in accordance with its Constitution and to disregard any misleading claims made by unauthorized persons or groups.
