AWANTIPORA: In a significant milestone for higher education and deep-tech innovation in Jammu & Kashmir, Vice Chancellor of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Prof. Shakil A Romshoo on Friday held a high-level meeting with Dr. Rukhsan Ul Haq, CEO and Chief Scientist of Chinar Quantum AI (CQAI), and Dr. L. Venkata Subramanian, CEO of Qbit Force.
The meeting was also attended by Prof. Farooq Hussain Bhat, Dean, School of Sciences, IUST, and Dr. Mohsin Ilahi, Operations Lead and Senior Quantum Scientist at CQAI.
The discussions focused on establishing a long-term strategic partnership to position IUST as a leading centre for quantum technologies and other frontier areas of deep technology. The deliberations explored collaborative initiatives aligned with the Government of India’s National Quantum Mission, IndiaAI Mission, and National Semiconductor Mission, with a shared vision of fostering advanced research, innovation, talent development, and industry-academia collaboration.
As part of this vision, IUST plans to develop a world-class ecosystem for quantum science and emerging technologies, where leading deep-tech companies, including Chinar Quantum AI (CQAI) and Qbit Force, will partner with the University to establish Quantum Innovation Hubs, facilitate cutting-edge research, build advanced infrastructure, and create opportunities for students, researchers, startups, and industry.
This initiative marks a pioneering step for the Kashmir Valley and reinforces IUST’s commitment to becoming a catalyst for next-generation technologies, innovation-driven entrepreneurship, and national capacity building. The meeting represents the beginning of a transformative journey towards positioning Kashmir as an emerging destination for quantum technology and deep-tech innovation in India.
