Sumbal: Traffic Police on Saturday issued an advisory notifying traffic diversions on the Srinagar–Sumbal–Bandipora road in view of the 12th Muharram procession from Dangerpora to Shahtalpora tommorrow.
According to the advisory, traffic movement on the road stretch will remain affected from 12:30 pm to 10 pm, and commuters have been advised to avoid the route during the procession.
According to the advisory, vehicles travelling from Srinagar towards Bandipora and Gurez will be diverted via Sopore–Bandipora–Gurez, while traffic from Bandipora and Gurez towards Srinagar will be routed through Chewa–Safapora–Ganderbal.
Traffic from Sumbal to Srinagar will be diverted via Naidkhai–Hamray–Narbal, while vehicles heading towards Sumbal from Srinagar will ply through Takanwari via Shadipora Bridge.
The advisory further said the Dangerpora–Shahtalpora stretch will remain closed for vehicular traffic during the procession.
Traffic Police have appealed to motorists to follow the notified diversions and cooperate with the authorities to ensure smooth traffic management.
