JKP marks Yoga Day with enthusiastic participation

SRINAGAR: J&K Police on Sunday celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with great enthusiasm across various districts of Kashmir, including Ganderbal, Bandipora, Shopian, and Sopore, reaffirming its commitment to promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle among police personnel and the community.
Yoga sessions were organized at district police establishments, sports venues, and police lines, witnessing active participation from senior police officers, jawans, officials, youth, students, and members of civil society. Participants performed various yoga asanas, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques under expert guidance.
The programmes highlighted the significance of yoga in enhancing physical health, reducing stress, improving concentration, and fostering overall wellness. Senior officers emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life, particularly in the demanding profession of policing, and encouraged personnel to adopt it as a regular practice.
