‘Rivals resorting to venomous propaganda against National Conference to divert attention from their own chequered past’
SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President, Kashmir, Advocate Showkat Ahmad Mir, said that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the elected government has ushered in a new era of responsive governance, inclusive development and people-centric policy making, setting Jammu and Kashmir firmly on the path of progress and prosperity.
He said that the government’s swift and result-oriented developmental interventions, welfare initiatives and commitment to addressing public aspirations reflect a governance model rooted in accountability, transparency and service to the people.
Mir maintained that the remarkable pace at which key developmental commitments are being translated into tangible outcomes underscores the administration’s unwavering resolve to strengthen public institutions, accelerate socio-economic transformation, and ensure that the benefits of growth and development reach every section of society across Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a meeting of party office-bearers and workers, he said that the government’s efforts in constructing new roads, executing flyover projects, launching new power projects, strengthening infrastructure, ensuring a transparent recruitment process, improving healthcare facilities, upgrading educational institutions, and reviving the tourism sector have received widespread appreciation from the people. He emphasized that the government’s focus is not limited to making announcements but is firmly directed toward delivering tangible results on the ground, the benefits of which are reaching ordinary citizens.
Mir said, “The pro-people policies of the National Conference government and its growing popularity among the masses have left leaders of the PDP and BJP rattled. As a result, they are resorting to baseless allegations, provocative statements, and inappropriate language against the National Conference and its leadership in an attempt to preserve their political relevance and conceal their past failures.”
He urged party workers and office-bearers to remain closely connected with the people, listen to their concerns, and play an active role in resolving their problems. He said that the real strength of the party lies with the people, and workers should intensify their efforts to promote the ideals of the National Conference, its spirit of public service, and organizational strength.
Mir reaffirmed that the National Conference will continue its struggle for public welfare, the strengthening of democratic values, and a brighter future for Jammu and Kashmir. He added that the party will make every effort to live up to the trust and expectations placed in it by the people.
