Inaugurates State-of-Art Laparoscopy Unit at SDH Magam, launches dev projects
BUDGAM: Sakeena Itoo, Minister for Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education, and Social Welfare on Thursday visited Beerwah in Budgam to inaugurate healthcare facilities and lay foundation stones for educational projects. She was accompanied by MLA Beerwah, Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani, officials from various departments, and district authorities.
During her visit, Itoo inaugurated a state-of-the-art Laparoscopy Unit at Sub-District Hospital Magam, fulfilling a long-standing demand. This facility will improve access to specialized surgical care locally, reducing the need for patients to travel outside the district. She also inaugurated a similar unit at Sub-District Hospital Beerwah, providing affordable, minimally invasive treatments at the grassroots level.
The Minister laid the foundation stone for a new Administrative Block at Government Degree College Magam, aimed at enhancing academic administration and infrastructure. Additionally, she laid the foundation for a modern Auditorium Hall at Government Degree College Beerwah, which will serve as a hub for academic, cultural, and co-curricular activities. She also initiated construction of a new building for Government High School Rathsun in Beerwah, promising improved learning facilities for students.
Reaffirming the government’s focus on balanced development, Itoo emphasized healthcare and education as key sectors of public welfare. She assured efforts are ongoing to ensure quality services and modern facilities reach every part of Jammu and Kashmir. MLA Wani appreciated the projects and pledged close monitoring for timely completion.
The Minister interacted with public delegations, civil society, and youth groups, receiving feedback on public services and development issues. She instructed officials to address grievances promptly, promoting efficient governance and service delivery.
