SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah Thursday led party functionaries, legislators, and office bearers in offering Fatiha and floral tributes at the grave of veteran party leader Khawaja Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah on his death anniversary.
The tributes were paid at his resting place near the Ziyarat of Syed Muhammad Mantaqi (RA) in Chattabal, Srinagar. On the occasion, party leaders recalled the invaluable contributions of the late leader towards strengthening the National Conference and serving the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They paid rich tributes to his political vision, commitment, and lifelong dedication to public service.
Meanwhile, party functionaries, legislators, and office bearers of the local unit also offered Fatiha at the resting place of Fakhr-e-Kashmir Mirza Muhammad Afzal Beg in Sarnal, Anantnag, commemorating his enduring legacy and immense contribution to the political and social landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
A commemorative function was also organized at the party headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha, under the chairmanship of Party General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar. During the gathering, Fatiha was offered and glowing tributes were paid to both stalwarts for their remarkable services to the party and the people.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdullah expressed grief over the demise of Tahseen Shabir Raina, a second-year Veterinary Science student at SKUAST-K (Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir). The deceased was the son of Shabir Ahmad Raina, JKAS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sopore.
Dr Farooq offered prayers for the peace of the departed soul and extended his condolences to the bereaved family, praying for strength and fortitude in this difficult time.
