Srinagar: Srinagar police on Friday claimed to have arrested four gamblers during a routine patrolling and recovered stake money or rupees 3320 from the gambling spot.
A senoir police fficial said that a police party of Police Station Nigeen during a routine patrolling arrested 04 gamblers who were identified as Mehraj-u-Din Dhobi resident of Dhobi Mohalla Hazratbal, Bilal Ahmad Sodagar, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat and Naseer Ahmad Dhobi residents of Dhobighat Hazratbal near Hazratbal. Besides, stake money of rupees 3,320 and playing cards were recovered from the spot.
Consequently, a case FIR number 164/2017 under section 13 Gambling Act was registered and investigation was taken up, the police official said.
