DC Budgam reviews Muharram arrangements at Markazi Imambara Bemina

BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan on Thursday visited Markazi Imambara Yousuf Abad, Bemina, to assess preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram. He inspected facilities and interacted with residents, religious leaders, and management to address their concerns.
Local representatives highlighted issues such as repairing damaged roads on Mirgund Bemina Road, ensuring uninterrupted power supply, improving water availability, strengthening medical facilities, and developing parking spaces for devotees. The DC directed departments to prioritize these issues and ensure seamless arrangements.
He instructed the Roads & Buildings Department to repair damaged roads and emphasized a comprehensive traffic plan for smooth movement of mourners. The PDD was directed to maintain uninterrupted electricity with backup options, while the Jal Shakti Department was told to ensure continuous water supply.
Healthcare services were also prioritized, with directions to deploy medical teams, ambulances, and facilities during major gatherings. The DC assured that the proposal for parking development at the Imambara would be taken up with authorities.
Stressing the importance of coordination, the DC said preparations had already begun to ensure a peaceful observance of Muharram, with all departments working proactively to provide essential services and facilities for mourners.
