AWANTIPORA: The Department of Mathematical Sciences, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), recently organised a programme on “Count Data and Claim Frequency Models in Insurance: Classical GLM and Artificial Neural Network Approach (ANN).”
The session was delivered by Dr. Deepesh Bhati, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Statistics, Central University of Rajasthan, who highlighted modern statistical techniques and machine learning approaches for modelling insurance claim data, focusing on both Generalized Linear Models (GLMs) and ANN-based methods. During the program Dr. Peer Bilal Ahmad, Head, Department of Mathematical Sciences, IUST, underscored the importance of such expert lectures in strengthening research and applied understanding among students, scholars, and faculty. The programme witnessed active participation and concluded with an engaging discussion session.
