KOLKATA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday arrived in West Bengal on a two-day visit, during which he will participate in ‘Paschimbanga Divas’ celebrations, lead the International Day of Yoga programme in Kolkata, and commission three indigenously built naval ships.
Modi arrived in Hooghly district from neighbouring Odisha and is scheduled to attend the state-level ‘Paschimbanga Divas’ celebrations at Tarakeswar later in the day.
During the event, he will launch and lay the foundation stone for several development projects relating to railways, agriculture, fisheries, rural development and infrastructure, besides releasing the 23rd instalment of the PM-Kisan scheme.
