Dr Darakhshan calls for collective fight against narco-terror

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Monday addressed the social awareness programme ‘AslukAalav’ organised by Al Rahim Trust at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Sonwar, Srinagar, emphasising that social transformation is a must for building an environment-friendly and competent youth power.
The programme aimed at promoting social harmony, awakening swadeshi sentiment, civic duties, family entitlement, environmental conservation, and strengthening moral values among the new generation.
“The programme aims to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote moral and ethical values, social responsibility, and a healthy lifestyle among youth. Such programmes are the need of the hour as we have to reach the grassroots within our society to create a healthy future through our brilliant youth,” Dr Andrabi said.
Praising the mega anti-drugs initiative launched by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha across the Union Territory, Dr Andrabi said that we have to collectively end narco-terror from our society.
The event witnessed participation from BJP J&K General Secretary Ashok Koul, former DG CRPF S.S. Sandhu, Vice Chairman Minto Circle Altaf Hussain, religious preacher Molvi Owais Qadri, CMO Srinagar Dr Tahir, BJP leaders Arif Raja, Bilal Parray, Arsheed Bhat, and Nazir Gilkar, along with civil society members.
