JKPSC Exam: CUK Maths Dept’s seven students selected

GANDERBAL: Department of Mathematics, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) achieved a notable feat with its seven students qualifying Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) Examination 2026 for the post of 10+2 Lecturer, including the selected securing the first and fourth ranks.
Dr. Zahid Basir Monga, an alumnus of the Department, secured the first rank, while Dr. Mohammad Yousf Mir achieved the fourth rank. In addition, five more students from the Department—Dr. Dilawar Junid Mir, Mr. Javeed Ahmad Rather, Ms. Kulsooma Rashid, Mr. Manan Bashir Bhat, and Mr. Shahid Ahmed—have also been selected, marking an excellent performance.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, congratulated the students and faculty, stating that the achievement underscores the University’s commitment to academic excellence and its vision in line with Viksit Bharat @2047. He reiterated that the University continues to foster an environment that promotes student-centered creativity, faculty-driven quality, and holistic institutional growth.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, Registrar, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, Dean School of Physical and Chemical Sciences, Prof. C Naseema, and other faculty members extended their congratulations to the successful candidates.
HoD Mathematics, Dr. Haribhau R. Bhapkar, dedicated the success to the hard work of the students and acknowledged the continued support and encouragement from the University leadership. He emphasized that the Department remains committed to delivering quality education while integrating mathematical thinking, design thinking, and pragmatic approaches to develop individuals who are academically excellent, intellectually sharp and spiritually grounded.
