HAJIN: Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, Police Station Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday organised a comprehensive drug awareness programme aimed at sensitising the public about the growing menace of substance abuse.
The programme witnessed active participation from youth, respected members of civil society, and Imams from various Jamia Masjids, reflecting a collective resolve to combat the issue.
The gathering highlighted the importance of community involvement in addressing drug abuse, which continues to pose a serious threat to society.
Police officers, along with prominent local representatives, addressed the participants and elaborated on the harmful physical, psychological and social consequences of drug addiction. They stressed the need for early prevention, enhanced community vigilance, and timely support for those affected.
An interactive session was also held during the programme, where participants shared their concerns and views, making the event both engaging and meaningful. Speakers urged parents, teachers and community leaders to take proactive steps in guiding the younger generation and protecting them from falling prey to drugs.
Participants also took a pledge to eradicate drug abuse from society and reaffirmed their commitment towards building a drug-free and healthy Jammu and Kashmir.
