SKUAST-K scholar wins poultry research grant

SRINAGAR: Dr Sayeeb Khursheed Reshi, a research scholar in the Division of Poultry Science at the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), has been selected for the Dr BV Rao Research Grant for the 2025-26 academic year. This award, dedicated to the memory of Dr BV Rao, the ‘Father of Indian Poultry’ and founder of the VH Group, is designed to drive innovation and self-reliance within the Indian poultry sector.
Dean, Faculty of Animal Sciences, Dr Riaz Ahmad Shah appreciated the research endeavours of the Department of Poultry Science, noting that students actively applying for and securing grants from industries is a testament to the department’s growing excellence. Dr Azmat Alam Khan, Registrar of SKUAST-K and the student’s Major Advisor, lauded the achievement, highlighting that Reshi is the 3rd scholar from the department to earn this distinction.
