KANGAN: A wave of celebration has swept through the quiet locality of Chattergul area of Kangan in Ganderbal district as two cousin sisters scripted history by securing a perfect 500 out of 500 marks in the Class 10 board examinations.

The outstanding achievers, Faiqa Fayaz, daughter of a teacher, and Zainab-un-Nissa, daughter of a doctor, have brought immense pride to their families, their school, and the entire Kangan region.

The extraordinary success of the duo sparked scenes of joy and celebration in the locality. As news of their perfect score spread, neighbours, relatives, and well-wishers gathered at their residences, offering sweets and congratulations, and hailing the sisters as role models for the younger generation.

Speaking to Kashmir Reader on the phone, Faiqa and Zainab modestly credited their success to the school management and faculty of Dreamland Education Institution, Ganderbal, for their continuous guidance and support. They said the institution provided them with extra classes, regular assessments, and a disciplined academic environment that helped them maintain consistency throughout the year.

“We always studied together in a single room, motivating and helping each other during difficult times,” the cousins said, adding that mutual support played a vital role in their achievement. They also expressed deep gratitude to their parents for their encouragement and sacrifices.

While this achievement marks a major milestone, Faiqa Fayaz and Zainab-un-Nissa consider it only the beginning of a much larger journey. They have set their sights on the Civil Services Examination.

“Our ultimate goal is to crack the Civil Services exam. We want to serve humanity and contribute to the welfare of mankind through administrative roles,” they said.

The cousin sisters shared an inspiring message for those who could not perform well in the examinations. “Exams are just a part of our journey, not our destination. Failure is a step towards success. Do not lose hope and never give up,” they said.

Educationists and local residents termed the achievement as a shining example of hard work, dedication, and quality education in the region. The success of the two cousin sisters has not only made Chattergul and Kangan proud but has also emerged as a source of inspiration for students across the Ganderbal district, especially young girls aspiring to excel in academics and public service.
