Sopore: A 28-year-old youth was killed in a road accident that occurred in Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said Saturday.
The 24 year old youth identified as Arif Ayoub Dar, son of Mohammad Ayoub of Tarzoo Sopore who was riding his bike at Chankhan area of Sopore was hit by a speedy Maruti vehicle, police said.
“He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to SDH Sopore where doctor referred him to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment, however, he breathed his last at SKIMS,” police said.
Witnesses said that the Maruti driver fled from the spot along with the vehicle when the accident occurred.
Meanwhile, Police reached the spot and registered a case in this regard. Police said that a manhunt has been started to nab the Maruti driver.
