Srinagar: Assistant Commissioner Food Safety (ACFS) Srinagar issued an on-spot prohibition order and restrained manufacturing processing in one of the confectionery manufacturing units at Food Park Khunmoh after it was found violating set norms
The confectionary unit as per ACFS was using labels with the false and fake address of other States. The unit was also found in total unsanitary condition also food additives and colours were being used indiscriminately without any record.
The unit was also running without a license under FSSA.
The whole stocks of confectionary along with false labels were seized and samples of same sent to Food Analyst Kashmir for further necessary action. In addition, some other manufacturers have been issued improvement notices for complying with various provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act.
