SRINAGAR: Continuing its dedicated efforts under Project Sadhbhavana to empower youth and foster socio-cultural harmony, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army organized Kashmiruk FUNKAR Season III at N. M. Govt Boys Higher Secondary School, Kaloosa, and Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Bandipora, from December 3 to 20, 2025.

The event featured three main categories—Sports Camps, Awareness Capsules, and Competitions—aimed at holistically engaging and inspiring the youth of Kashmir.

Sports Camps focused on skill development and fitness activities, including Self-Defence, Kickboxing, Pencak Silat, Mallakhamb, and Ice Stock. These camps aimed to enhance physical strength, discipline, and self-confidence among participants, PRO Defence Srinagar said in a statement issued here.

Awareness Capsules comprised interactive sessions on critical issues such as Anti-Drug Awareness, Hygiene & Sanitation, Know Your Army, Artificial Intelligence, and Career Counseling. Eminent guest speakers from diverse fields addressed the youth, motivating them to actively participate and aspire for a brighter future.

The Competitions category showcased the rich cultural talents of Kashmir’s youth through Painting, Singing, Dancing, Kangdi Making, and Traditional Musical Instruments. These contests served as a vibrant platform to preserve and promote Kashmir’s artistic and cultural heritage by encouraging local talent to display their skills and creativity on a wider stage.

In addition to these activities, special interactive zones were set up to provide hands-on exposure in areas such as physical fitness, self-defense, technological awareness, and traditional arts. The enthusiastic participation reflected the region’s immense potential and the youth’s eagerness to learn and excel.

While committed to its primary role of safeguarding borders and ensuring peace in Kashmir, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army continues to actively contribute towards educational empowerment, cultural preservation, and skill development. Through initiatives like Kashmiruk FUNKAR, the Army aims to promote positivity, foster unity, and inspire the next generation to participate in nation-building.
