SRINAGAR: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) held a condolence meeting to express profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Prof. Allauddin Ahmad, the Founder Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was presided over by Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K, and was attended by University Officers, Heads of Divisions, scientists, and non-teaching staff of the Shalimar Campus.
While offering heartfelt sympathies and condolences, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai expressed deep sorrow on the passing of Prof. Ahmad. He conveyed that the thoughts and prayers of the entire SKUAST-K fraternity are with the bereaved family during this difficult time. Prof. Ganai highlighted the invaluable contributions of Prof. Ahmad in laying the foundation on which the university continues to grow in research, extension, and innovation. He described Prof. Ahmad as a personality of humility, integrity, and deep religious values, whose vision and leadership remain an inspiration for the entire academic community in the University.
Other speakers on the occasion, Prof. Raihana Habib Kanth, Director Extension; Prof. Neelofar Banday, Dean, Faculty of Horticulture; and Mr. Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat, Joint Registrar, also shared their reflections on the life, achievements, and contributions of the Founder Vice Chancellor for the development of the University
The participants collectively prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and for strengthening and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. A Fatiha Khawani (prayer ceremony) was also held for the departed soul.
