SRINAGAR: Police in Pulwama in collaboration with Government Central School Pulwama conducted an awareness programme on traffic regulation, management and violations.
During the event, students were acquainted with various traffic laws and the importance of following rules in day-to-day life. As part of the programme, the students were also taken to the road for practical demonstration about traffic management, regulation, and the consequences of violations.
Police sensitized the students on the need for discipline on roads, adherence to safety measures, and responsible driving behaviour. Underlined that students, as future citizens, can play a vital role in spreading traffic awareness within their families and society.
The initiative reflects the commitment of Police towards sensitizing the younger generation on traffic awareness and building a culture of safe and responsible road usage in the district.
Meanwhile, police in Pulwama held drug awareness programmes at MMHSS Pulwama and Lassipora. These programmes highlighted the harmful impact of substance abuse on health, families, and society at large. Speakers urged students and youth to adopt healthy lifestyles and remain vigilant against the menace of drugs. Parents and community members were also reminded of their vital role in guiding youngsters and reporting drug peddling activities.
The initiative witnessed good participation, with locals and students acknowledging the importance of collective efforts in building a drug-free district.
