Srinagar: Police in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir today issued a public advisory prohibiting the flying of drones, UAVs or any other similar aerial devices without prior approval from the competent authority, citing prevailing security considerations in the region.
According to the advisory, individuals, institutions, media professionals and event organisers must seek permission in advance before operating drones in any part of the district.
Police warned that any unauthorized flying would invite strict legal action, with equipment liable to be seized.
The advisory further urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious drone activity to the nearest police station or through the district helpline numbers.
