Police on Monday claimed that the army officer killed in Beerwah town of central Kashmir’s Budgam district was a killed as a result of accidental fire.
Denying army’s claim of a militant attack, Inspector General said, ” it is a case of accidental fire.”
However according to sources the JCO has allegedly committed suicide.
Army however maintains a that there was a militant attack on the party returning from night patrol.
Pertinently, this is second case in the last 48 hours, with a jawan committing suicide in Pahalgam yesterday.
