SRINAGAR: A top-level delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) met Mr. Ghulam Mohi-uddin Bhat, the newly appointed Chief Education Officer (CEO), to formally welcome him on assuming the charge as the CEO of District Srinagar.
Under the chairmanship of Mr. Mohammad Shafi Rather, Chairman JKTF, the delegation extended heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Bhat on assuming the office of CEO Srinagar, acknowledging his distinguished record in educational administration.
The Chairman JKTF, Mr. Mohammad Shafi, highlighted his vast experience, deep knowledge and proven administrative acumen, while expressing confidence that his leadership will usher in a new era of progress for the schools in Srinagar.
Held in the office chambers of CEO Srinagar, the members, during the interaction, emphasized on several key priorities for the district’s education system, including streamlining of human resource management, equipping schools with the smart technological tools and infrastructure, and enhancing the academic standards in the district.
Stressing on the need for efficient human resource management to ensure optimal deployment of teaching and non-teaching staff, the delegation noted that the effective human resource practices, like regular transfers, academic arrangements and availability of subject- specialists, are essential for maintaining high morale among educators and for the smooth functioning of schools.
Citing the lack of or negligible presence of technological tools and infrastructure in schools, particularly in High and Higher Secondary Schools, the delegation advocated for the integration and availability of advanced technological tools in classrooms like smart boards and the concept of smart classrooms.
Underscoring the need and importance of upgrading school infrastructure, the members stressed that such initiatives could create smart learning environments that foster creativity, critical thinking and digital literacy among students.
The delegation called for the collaborative efforts to enhance the academic standards in all schools across District Srinagar. They stressed the need for innovative teaching techniques, regular teacher training programs and vigorous monitoring of assessment systems towards the holistic development and academic excellence of every student.
The CEO Srinagar expressed his deep gratitude for the warm welcome and the trust reposed in him by the educational community. He gave the assurance to the delegation that he would be committed to work selflessly for the benefit of students, schools and the teaching fraternity in Srinagar.
Giving his district vision, Mr. Bhat stated that the foremost task for him shall be to rationalize the human resource management in District Srinagar, ensuring that every school must have adequate support and manpower to function efficiently.
“I am dedicated to removing roadblocks in the path of academic and administrative growth and will work with all stakeholders to create an environment in which both students and teachers excel,” Mr. Bhat said.
The meeting concluded on a highly positive note, with both the delegation and the CEO expressing optimism about the future of education in Srinagar. The delegation reiterated their support for the CEO’s vision and pledged to work collaboratively towards shared goals.
