JAMMU/SRINAGAR: Traffic Police Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday saidsSlow movement was reported on NH-44 due to the breakdown of two heavy motor vehicles (HMVs). Single-lane traffic was maintained at Nashri-Dalwas and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather. Authorities have advised travelers to remain cautious and patient.
Important Notices for Commuters:
– Commuters from Reasi, Katra, Udhampur, Patnitop, Doda, and Ramban are requested to carry valid photo ID cards after the cut-off timings from Jammu/Udhampur for smooth movement.
– Passengers and LMV operators are advised to travel during daytime hours because of the risk of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.
– Goods carriers, especially those transporting perishable goods or livestock, should load their vehicles as per traffic advisories and ensure proper vehicle fitness and sufficient fuel before journeying.
– Fruit growers and load carriers moving from the Valley towards Jammu should load and park their vehicles timely, every morning before 9 a.m., at designated locations between NAVYUG Tunnel and Levdoora.
– Overloading HMVs is discouraged; vehicle owners must verify vehicle fitness and carry adequate fuel for the trip.
– HMVs with six or ten tyres are permitted to ply through Dhar Road.
– Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary halts, particularly near landslide-prone areas between Ramban and Banihal.
Traffic Plan & Advisory for 06-07-2025
Conditions: Subject to fair weather and road conditions
– Passenger/LMV Movement: Allowed from both Jammu and Srinagar sides.
– HMV Movement: Allowed on alternate days; TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will coordinate with TCU Ramban before dispatching.

Cut-off Timings:
– Nagrota (Jammu) to Srinagar: 0600 to 1200 hrs
– Jakheni (Udhampur) to Srinagar: 0700 to 1300 hrs
– Qazigund to Jammu: 1130 to 1400 hrs
Note: Vehicles will not be permitted to move outside these timings; authorities will update accordingly.
Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs):
– Allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) to Srinagar after assessment, but not after 1900 hrs.
– Vehicles carrying perishable or essential goods, including petrol, diesel, LPG, and FCI trucks, are advised to use Mughal Road for return trips, as per DIVCOM Kashmir advisories.
Special Routes & Conditions
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244:
– Permitted for LMVs and HPSVs from both directions, subject to road conditions and NHIDCL approval.
– Permissible times:
– Anantnag to Kishtwar: 0900 to 1500 hrs
– Kishtwar to Anantnag: 0800 to 1600 hrs
– No other HMVs except designated HPSVs allowed.
SSG Road (Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari):
– Traffic allowed in regulated manner post-approval from BRO.
– Permitted times:
– Srinagar to Kargil: 0500 to 1000 hrs
– Kargil to Srinagar: 1130 to 1730 hrs
– Convoys for Yatra and other essential movements will be coordinated to avoid disruptions.
Mughal Road:
– Permissible for LMVs and private cars in both directions, contingent on weather and road conditions.
– HMVs up to ten tyres allowed from Shopian towards Poonch during designated hours (0700 to 1800 hrs).
– Vehicles should depart from Behramgala and Herpora accordingly.
