A Jammu and Kashmir Police constable was killed and another injured when suspected militants attack a police party near Mehandi Kadal area of Anantnag.
According to the reports, a constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police Imtiyaz Ahmad killed while another constable Shabir Ahmad was injured in the attack in Anantnag.
Earlier, authorities have put security forces on high alert ahead of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to south Kashmir district of Anantnag to interact with security force personnel.
Official sources said fresh advisory has been issued to field commanders to remain extra alert in entire south Kashmir, where security forces have been deployed in strength to foil any militant attack.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh was on a visit to the south Kashmir to meet the security forces and take stock of the security situation in the district.
