A Jammu and Kashmir Police cop who was injured in a militant attack in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday has succumbed to his injuries.
According to the reports, an assistant sub-inspector was shot at by unknown militants at Mehnadi Kadal area of Anantnag.
Sources said that he was hit in the abdomen and was rushed to the hospital for the treatment.
However, he succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS hospital in Srinagar. Earlier, he was shifted to Anantnag district hospital from where he was referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment.
The policeman has been identified as ASI Ab Rasheed Pir.
