SRIANAGAR: The much-anticipated District Wushu Championship for the year 2024-2025 concluded successfully, showcasing the incredible talents of over 250 participants across various categories. The prestigious Gindun Stadium served as the vibrant backdrop for the event, where young athletes demonstrated impressive skill, determination, and sportsmanship.

The championship was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Dr. Waleed Karra, who applauded the exceptional performances of the athletes and highlighted the crucial role of sports in the holistic development of youth. Mohammad Iqbal, Manager of Gindun Stadium, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all participants, coaches, and organizers for their efforts in making the event a resounding success.

Notable attendees, including Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi and Irfan Ahmad Wani, also came to support the budding Wushu talents, reinforcing the community’s commitment to nurturing young athletes. Special recognition was granted to the Wushu Association of Jammu & Kashmir and the J&K State Sports Council for their unwavering support in promoting sports throughout the region.

The championship’s success can be attributed to the leadership and vision of Mr. Kuldeep Handoo, a Dronacharya Awardee, whose dedication to Wushu has inspired countless athletes. His invaluable guidance significantly contributed to the championship’s overall success.

The closing ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Mohammad Maqsood Rather, who acknowledged the contributions of participants, coaches, parents, and supporters in making the championship memorable.

The Indoor Wushu Academy emerged as the overall champion of the championship, with New Convent High School taking the runner-up position. The event not only celebrated athletic prowess but also ignited hopes for the continued growth of Wushu in the region, fostering the development of future champions in the years to come.
