SRINAGAR: In a significant crackdown on illegal mining, Police in Sopore in collaboration with the Geology & Mining Department, seized a tractor involved in the unlawful extraction of minerals. The driver of the tractor was arrested in the operation.
A team led by SHO PS Dangiwacha carried out the action and the arrested driver has been identified as Mohammad Iqbal Ganie of Machanpora Fidarpora Rafiabad, police said in a statement, adding that action under law has been taken under the relevant sections of law at Police Station Dangiwacha.
