SSG Road to Remain Closed for 3 Days Due to Inclement Weather

Must read

Ganderbal: Srinagar -Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) road will be closed to traffic from Kangan onwards for three days from January 11 to 13.
The decision has been taken to ensure the safety of all travelers, the authorities said and strongly advised against attempting to travel on the SSG road during this closure period.
Officials said that the decision was made by the Traffic Police Control Room (TPCR) Kashmir due to a combination of factors including inclement weather conditions, icy roads, and ongoing maintenance work.
The road is expected to reopen on January 14 provided that the weather conditions improve and the road is deemed safe for travel, the officials said. However travelers have been urged to confirm the road status with the TPCR Kashmir before journey.
While the road is closed, local residents will be allowed to travel after proper identification checks, officials said.
Traffic from Ladakh towards Sonamarg and Srinagar will only be permitted after receiving a green signal from the relevant BEACON authorities, they said.
Travelers can contact the TPCR Kashmir on the following numbers for the latest updates on the road status: 0194-2482200, 0194-2450022, 0194-2485396, and the toll-free number 103, they said.
The authorities have requested the public to cooperate with this traffic advisory and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconvenience or delays.
