Constitution Day: Govt Orders ‘Preamble Reading’ Ceremonies In All Offices Today

Srinagar: The Government on Monday ordered celebrations of Constitution Day across Jammu and Kashmir and the main program led by the Lieutenant Governor with the preamble reading ceremony will be held at SKICC here on Tuesday.
“”Samvidhan Diwas” l.e. Constitution Day is celebrated on 26th November every year. The celebrations commemorate adoption of Constitution of India which came into force from 26th November, 1950,” reads a circular issued by the government. Considering significance of completion of 75 years of adoption of Constitution, the government said, it has been decided to celebrate the event with great fervor and enthusiasm to reiterate the core values enshrined in the Constitution of India and motivate citizens to take their rightful role in strengthening of democracy.
“The year-long celebrations will be implemented under the campaign tagline “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhimaan”,” it said.
In this connection, the circular said, amongst other activities centered around the Constitution of India, the main program led by the Lieutenant Governor with the preamble reading ceremony shall be held on Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. at SKICC, Srinagar.
“It has also been decided that similar Preamble reading ceremonies shall be held across the Jammu and Kashmir in all Government Offices/Autonomous Bodies/PSUs and educational institutions,” it said, adding, “The Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj shall ensure mass Preamble Readings In Panchayats, Amrit Sarovar sites in rural areas.”
The photographs of the events shall be uploaded on the website www.constitution75.com. Besides, the participants shall access MyGov web portal for updates of all celebration(s) related activities, it said.
“Accordingly, it is enjoined upon Divisional Commissioner(s)/ Head of the Department(s)/Deputy Commissioner(s) and Managing Director(s) of all PSUs/Corporations to organize Preamble reading ceremonies on similar lines, on the scheduled date and time in their respective offices/locations,” the circular added.
