SRINAGAR: Director of Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal on Thursday visited the Seed Multiplication Farm in Tapper Kreeri to review the ongoing agricultural activities. During the visit, the Director inspected various farm blocks, high-tech polyhouses, and discussed the innovative technologies and interventions being implemented at the site.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Iqbal expressed his satisfaction with the significant progress made at the farm and commended the efforts of the farm’s management and staff in successfully adopting modern agricultural practices.
He highlighted that the S.M. Farm Tapper has become a model farm, particularly in the field of seed multiplication for different vegetable crops. The Director also noted that it stands as one of the most productive vegetable farms in Jammu & Kashmir.
The Director further emphasized the need for sustainable and environment-friendly cultivation practices, urging the concerned officers to strategize farm operations with minimal impact on natural resources.
Earlier, the farm manager, Charan Gurdev Singh, provided a comprehensive presentation on the farm’s activities. He also briefed the Director on the new technologies that have been introduced during the current crop season, marking the first-time adoption of these innovations at the farm.
