SRINAGAR: The Food Safety Department (FDA), under the Drug and Food Control Organization, carried out a surprise milk quality drive in Srinagar city earlier today. The operation, led by Food Safety Officers (FSOs) from Zone 1, Zone II, and Zone IV, focused on inspecting the quality of loose milk supplied in the city.
During the drive, 28 legal samples of loose milk were collected for analysis to ensure compliance with food safety standards. The inspection aimed at ensuring that milk distributed to consumers meets the necessary safety and quality parameters.
A spokesperson for the Food Safety Department emphasized the department’s commitment to safeguarding public health. “Today’s drive reflects our determination to ensure the quality of milk in Srinagar city,” the official said. “We will continue to monitor the situation and take strict action against violators.”
The drive is part of an ongoing effort to protect consumers from adulterated or contaminated milk, promoting a safe and healthy food environment in the city. The Food Safety Department has announced that intensified inspections will continue in the coming days to ensure compliance with safety standards.
