A senior photojournalist from South Kashmir was assaulted by forces in Anantnag district on Monday.
Sheikh Mashooq who works for a local English daily was performing his professional duties when he was assaulted by the forces.
Earlier, militants attacked a police party at the bus stand, leaving a cop and a civilian woman injured.
The injured policeman has been shifted to 92 Base hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment.
