Yasin Malik arrested again, lodged in Central Jail Srinagar

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, was arrested again on Monday.

The police raided the JKLF office at Abi Guzar and then apprehended Yasin Malik. He was remanded to judicial custody and is lodged in the Central Jail, Srinagar.

Speaking to media persons, before his arrest, JKLF chairman said, “Kashmir has been turned into a killing field, where educated young boys were being killed in cold blood. Whoever challenged the Army or police was showered with bullets, pellets and shells and this resulted in killings, injuries, blinding and destruction.”

He said that during Dialgam encounter a woman and a boy were killed. “The pain and agony of this loss is huge and so is the zeal and passion of resistance. On a daily basis thousands of young and old people are being terrorized in jails and police stations.

“If freedom movements of nations were to be finished by military might and oppression, no country, including India could have achieved its freedom.”

Paying tributes to all those killed, JKLF chairman prayed for the speedy recovery of those who have been injured by pellets and bullets and are under treatment in various hospitals.

Meanwhile, JKLF has expressed its heartfelt grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Haji Khizar Muhammad Butt of Nowpora Sopore. The deceased was uncle of a famous religious scholar Mufti Ghulam Hassan. A JKLF delegation comprising district president Abdul Rashid Magloo, Ghulam Qadir Khan and Molvi Reyaz visited the bereaved family and expressed solidarity with them.
