ANANTNAG: In a significant operation, Police in Anantnag successfully dismantled a major illicit liquor production unit. During a routine inspection at Brick Kiln ‘Jan Thajiwara’, owned by Tanveer Ahmad, police seized a substantial quantity of country-made liquor and equipment used for its production.
In addition to the seized liquor, Police apprehended eight individuals and recovered Rs 13,600, which is believed to be proceeds from the sale of the illegal liquor, police said in a statement, adding that a case has been registered under relevant sections of law and investigation is in progress to uncover further details and connections related to this illicit operation.
“This operation underscores the J&K Police’s unwavering commitment to enforcing the law and protecting the community from the detrimental effects of illegal liquor trade. J&K Police prioritize public safety and is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of local laws,” police said.
