Solves theft case in Budgam; stolen property recovered
SRINAGAR: Srinagar Police have successfully traced and reunited two minor children with their families in an efficient operation. These children had been reported missing for four days from Jamaat-ul-Uloom BK Pora Nowgam.
Upon receipt of written information in Police Station Nowgam, a case vide FIR No. 68/2024 under section 137(2) BNS was registered and investigation was set into motion, police said in a statement.
Utilizing a combination of technical data and human intelligence, Police Station Nowgam followed a lead to Vilgam, Handwara. With the cooperation of Handwara Police, the missing children were located and safely recovered from a remote area in Vilgam in less than four hours and they have been reunited with their families.
Further investigation into the matter is going on.
Meanwhile, police in Budgam have solved a theft case by arresting an accused involved in the commission of crime. Stolen property has also been recovered from his possession.
Police Station Khansahib received a complaint from Ab Majeed Kumar son of Ab Gani Kumar resident of Checksara Khanshaib to the effect that during the intervening night of 6-7/08/2024, some unknown persons entered into his shop situated at Check Shaira and have stolen some items and cash, police said, adding that a case vide FIR No. 142/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Khanshaib and the investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, many suspects were questioned and during questioning, one person identified as Farooq Ahmed Ganie @Dil Jaley son of Gh Ahmad Ganaie resident of Katchpuran admitted his involvement in the commission of crime. On his disclosure, stolen items, cash were recovered from his possession. Subsequently, he has been arrested and shifted to police station, police said.
