PAMPORE: Director of the Geology and Mining Department, Pawan Singh Rathore (JKAS), visited the Khrew, Wuyan, and other areas of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district to inspect ongoing mining activities in the Sub office Khrew.
During his visit, he met with delegations of various quarry and crusher unit holders to understand the challenges they are facing.
The Director was accompanied by Mineral Officer Kashmir Khursheed Ahmad Mir, District Mineral Officer Pulwama Er Mohammad Manzoor, Assistant Mining Engineer Basharat Yaseen, and other team members, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Rathore instructed the District Mineral Officer (DMO) of Pulwama, Er Mohammad Manzoor, to continue efforts against illegal mining to curb this issue.
District Mineral Officer Pulwama Er Mohammad Manzoor informed Kashmir Reader that the Director visited the Wuyan and Khrew areas of Pampore to inspect the mining activities.
The Director also met with quarry holders and crusher holders, listened to their problems, and assured them that any genuine issues would be addressed, he said.
Rathore also visited the sub-office of the Geology and Mining Department Khrew to review the mining operations in the district and assess the actions being taken against illegal mining. He also examined the steps being taken to curb illegal mining in the district.
DMO Pulwama briefed the Director on the ongoing operations against illegal mining in the district. Rathore emphasized that illegal mining would not be tolerated under any circumstances. However, he directed that any material should be sourced legally and instructed the DMO to provide material to people legally.
