GMC Anantnag celebrates 75th Republic Day at main campus Dialgam

ANANTNAG: The 75th Republic Day was joyously celebrated at Govt Medical College (GMC) Anantnag on 26th January 2024, with patriotic fervor resonating through the main function at Government Medical College’s Dialgam campus. Dr (Prof) Anjum Farhana, Principal of GMC Anantnag, graced the occasion as the chief guest. At 9:00 AM, she hoisted the National flag and took the salute during an impressive march past, showcasing the unity and enthusiasm of MBBS and BSC Paramedical Students on this Auspicious Day.
In her address, Prof Farhana highlighted the significance of 26th January 1950, when the “Constitution of independent India” came into effect, providing fundamental rights to every citizen. She emphasized that on this historic day, the people of the Republic adopted the constitution crafted by Dr. B.R Ambedkar’s committee, declaring India as a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, and Democratic Republic.
The entire staff, including Faculty members, consultants, Medical officers, Dental Surgeons and paramedical and ministerial staff including Cheif Accounts officer, Mr Muzaffar Ahmad, Deputy Director Planing, Peer Khurshid Ahmad and Deputy Medical superintendent MCH Hospital, Dr Shahid Ahmad actively participated in the National flag hosting ceremonies. While as Medical Superintendent AH-GMC Anantnag, Dr Muzaffar Ahmad Sherwani attended the “Republic Day” function at Baskshi Stadium Srinagar on behalf of GMC Anantnag.
Adding to the celebration, Dr Prof Anjum Farhana, Principal GMC Anantnag, extended felicitations to members of the ministerial staff for their exemplary contributions to the medical college and associated hospitals. The recognition reflects their dedicated service and commitment to the healthcare community.
