CUK celebrates 75th Republic Day

Ganderbal: Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) Friday celebrated the 75th Republic Day with fervor and enthusiasm.
While Prof A Ravinder Nath, the Vice Chancellor CUKashmir and Officiating Director NIT, Srinagar, unfurled the National Flag at NIT, Head Department of Management Studies, Prof. Abdul Gani, unfurled the Tricolour at the Green Campus, in presence of Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Tanveer Ahmad Shah, Dean DSW, Dr. Irfan Aalam, faculty members, senior university functionaries and other staff members. At Tulmulla Campus, Dean School of Physical and Chemical Sciences, Prof. Wali Muhammad Shah, unfurled the National Flag, in the presence of Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, Dean School of Legal Studies, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, Dean School of Life Sciences, Prof. Muhammad Yousuf, faculty members and other employees.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Abdul Gani said, the “Republic Day is not just a day of commemoration, but a reminder of our responsibilities as citizens, towards the Nation. It is heartening to witness the enthusiasm and dedication of the staff in upholding the values that make our nation strong and vibrant.” Prof. Gani, asked the participants to embrace diversity and build bridges that connect hearts and minds. “Let our academic pursuits be guided by a sense of purpose and a commitment to the welfare of our community and our nation.”
He further said that “our Constitution, the bedrock of our democracy, was adopted on this very day in 1950. It wasn’t just a legal document; it was a vision for the future, a promise of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity for every citizen. As we commemorate this day, let us not merely celebrate the past but also contemplate the role each one of us plays in shaping the future of our beloved country.”
Addressing the participants at Tulmulla, Prof. Wali Muhammad Shah, said, “The Republic Day is not just a date on the calendar; it is a living testament to the values that define us as a nation.” “It is a day when we pause to reflect on the ideals that guide our democracy and recommit ourselves to the principles laid out in our Constitution. Today is a day of celebration, remembrance, and, most importantly, a day to reaffirm our allegiance to the diverse tapestry that is India.”
Presenting vote of thanks, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, said, “on this Republic Day, let us remember the responsibilities that come with the rights bestowed upon us by our Constitution. The freedom we enjoy as a republic is not just a privilege; it is a responsibility to contribute to the progress and well-being of our society, uphold the principles of equality, and foster an inclusive and harmonious society for Viksit Bharat @2047.
He informed the participants about the renewed vision of the University and progress made in academic, administrative and infrastructural areas during the previous year.
