Srinagar: A delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir headed by Er Syed Pervaiz Qalander, Mr Bilal Kawoosa, Mr Shabir Abdullah and Iqbal Fayaz Jan on Tuesday convened a highly productive meeting with Khalid Majeed, JKAS- Director Industries Kashmir to discuss and address several critical issues faced by the local industrial sector.
The meeting focused on key areas such as the new industrial policy, turnover incentive, marketing support for existing industries, industrial estates development, validity for availing incentives under IDS, diagnostic study of sickness of industries, the establishment of a New Textile Park at Ganderbal, and awareness programs for startups and students in collaboration with the Chamber, the PDH CCI said in a statement.
During the meeting, the delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir engaged in a detailed and comprehensive discussion with Director Industries Kashmir, highlighting the challenges and opportunities within the industrial landscape. The Director, known for his patient and proactive approach, attentively listened to the concerns raised by the delegation and assured them of swift resolutions to the procedural difficulties encountered.

Industrial estates development emerged as another significant area of focus, with the delegation stressing the importance of creating modern and well-equipped industrial zones to attract investment and foster innovation. The delegation also emphasized the need for a comprehensive diagnostic study of the sickness of industries to identify and address the root causes of underperformance.
The meeting also witnessed discussions on the establishment of a New Textile Park at Ganderbal, aimed at boosting the textile industry in the region.
