Srinagar: A daylong entrepreneurship awareness program on Mushroom by Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir was held at Nadigam village of district Shopian.
The training was organised by the SKUAST-K’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra Shopian under the sponsorship of the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises for the women farmers of the village.
Coordinator of the training Dr Shabeer Ahmad Ganie, scientist plant protection KVK Shopian, emphasised upon Nutritional and medicinal value of mushrooms. He also explained the benefits and nutrient profile of Mushrooms. Scientist Agri. Extension Dr Bilal Ahmad Zargar enlightened upon that How to develop DPR on mushroom cultivation. In addition to this, Dr Zaffar Afroz Badri, Senior Scientist and head KVK Shopian shared his valuable and vast experience on Cultivation of white button mushrooms.
A total of 80 trainees participated in the programme and showed keen interest in starting a venture in entrepreneurship opportunities in Mushroom cultivation.
