TRAL: The Wildlife Department officials captured a black bear in the Sub Division Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
The wild animal was captured alive after it got trapped in the cage at Rathsunsa village of Tral. It was seen a few days ago in the area and since then the department had increased surveillance and installed a cage in the area, Wildlife Ranger Showkat Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
He said the black bear was roaming in the area for the past few days due to which fear gripped the locals of the area.
On Tuesday, the wildlife department received information about the black bear, and the team rushed to the spot and the bear was caught alive without causing any injury.
The locals of the area heaved a sigh of relief after the black bear was captured, he said. They secured the lives of residents and livestock from possible damage by capturing the black bear.
