Black bear captured alive in Tral Village

TRAL: A black bear was captured by the wildlife department at the Sub Division Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday evening.
An official told Kashmir Reader that the Joint control room (JCR) captured a bear that was roaming in the residential area at Panzoo Khanagund in Sub Division Tral.
He said that the black bear was seen some days ago near the government school at Panzoo Tral. After getting information about the wild animal, the department team reached the spot to capture the bear, the animal however fled from the spot and since then the Wildlife Department had increased surveillance, installed a cage in the area, Block Officer Control Room wildlife range Khanagund Mohammad Yousuf Bhat told Kashmir Reader.
He said that on Friday evening receiving information about the bear, teams of the Wildlife Department visited the area and captured the black bear alive without causing any injury.
The locals of the area heaved a sigh of relief after the wild animal was captured, he said.
Locals said that the bear was roaming in the residential areas for the last few days, posing danger to people’s lives and their livestock.
They have appreciated the wildlife officials of Range Khangund for timely action.
