Sixty personnel and officers donate blood
PAMPORE, June 12:185 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organized a mega blood donation camp in collaboration with GMC Handwara at its headquarters at Comando Training Centre Lethpora area of Pampore Tehsil, in which Commandant Arun Kumar Bharti, a number of CRPF personnel and officers, participated and total 60 personnel donated blood.
The event, held to commemorate World Blood Donor Day 2023, was aimed to raise awareness about the importance of safe blood and express gratitude towards voluntary blood donors. The campaign slogan for this year’s World Blood Donor Day is “Give Blood Give Plasma, Share Life, Share often”, CRPF officials told Kashmir Reader.
The blood donation camp was held under the guidance of IG Kashmir Ops Sector, CRPF Gyanendra Kumar Verma, (IPS), and the leadership of Commandant 185 Battalion on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. Every year countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day on June 14. The organizers said the event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.
Reiterating the importance of World Blood Donor Day, the Unit Commandant of 185 BN CRPF Arun Kumar Bharati urged all CRPF personnel and Civilians present there, to increase awareness about voluntary blood donations, to ensure that everyone who needs transfusion has access to safe blood as the world needs voluntary, blood donors who donate blood regularly. He also requested all to Join the efforts and save lives.
Talking to the media persons, Commandant 185 Bn Arun Kumar Bharati said that a blood service that gives patients access to safe blood and blood products in sufficient quantity is a key component of an effective health system and Donating blood is an act of solidarity”.
A total of 60 units of blood were donated by the volunteer Blood Donors of 185 Battalions CRPF. Senior Officers, and Subordinate Officers Jawans of 185 Battalion CRPF participated enthusiastically and donated blood voluntarily. The blood so collected was donated to the local Red Cross Society.185 BN CRPF regularly organizes such Blood Donation Camp and Civic Action programme to help the needy common citizen and serve humanity.
The work done by the 185 Battalion CRPF was praised by all the officers and dignitaries present on the occasion.
