Police man dies in road accident at Pampore

PAMPORE: A 45 year old Police Constable died when his car, he was travelling, hit a divider on late Monday night in Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The deceased Constable was identified as Bashir Ahmad Kuchay son of Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Kuchay, resident of Negoo Chadoora area of Budgam.
Kuchay was a Selection Grade Constable in J&K Police, presently posted at Police Post Aripal area of police district Awantipora, SHO Pampore Adil Ashraf told Kashmir Reader.
As per police officials, an Alto Car bearing registration number JK04H-0495 driven by Bashir Ahmad Kuchay collided with a divider due to over speed on the Srinagar-Jammu highway near Samboora link road area of Pampore, resulting in serious injuries of Constable.
The incident took place late Monday night around 12. am when Constable was on his way to home. He suffered several injuries in the accident and was shifted to Sub District Hospital Pampore where he was declared dead on arrival, SHO said.
The police handed over the body to family members for last rites.
A Case FIR number 142/2022 under relevant sections registered in Police station Pampore, he said.
